The Video Game Newsroom Time Machine is a weekly retro gaming podcast in which we travel back in time to see what was making headlines 40, 30, and 20 years ago in the arcade, video game, and computer gaming business and interview industry veterans.

We try to put those events into historical context to understand how the industry of today came to be.

It's fun and educational! (in case you need to justify listening to it to a significant other)

In a break from our normal programming, we interview Al Lowe, the father of Leisure Suit Larry, the padre of Freddy Pharkas and the god of Torin.

In this interview we touch on his first steps into the gaming industry pre-Sierra, his adventures dealing with Disney, the rise of Leisure Suit Larry and the changes in the industry he witnessed along the way.

Personally, he has always been a hero of mine, and they say that you should never meet your heroes, to which I say: "then you have the wrong heroes."

Al Lowe is awesome!
